I endorse CM's decision: NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Uddhav Thackeray's answer to'secular' taunt expressing shock in the language Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari had used, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said though the Governor has the right to express his views, the language he used in the correspondence to CM Uddhav Thackeray had been"intemperate" and didn't"behoove nicely" for an individual of his stature.

In the correspondence addressed to the PM, the former Union minister wrote: "Tone and tenor always have to be in keeping with the stature of the constitutional post occupied by people. Looking at the turn of events, the CM has left no choice but to release his answer to the Governor in press."

Expressing shock at the language Koshyari had used, Pawar said. However, the Governor has the right to express his views. The language he used in the correspondence to the CM was'intemperate' and did not'behoove well' for a person of his stature.

He explained: "However, I am shocked and surprised to know that the correspondence of the Army was released to the media and also the kind of language employed in the letter, which does not behoove well for a person who retains a constitutional position."

In his letter to the CM, Maharashtra Governor Koshyari had advocated Thackeray to reopen a few worship places from the state.

He had then taunted the CM and stated: "You've been a strong votary of Hindutva. You had publicly expressed your loyalty to Lord Ram.  I wonder if you are receiving any heavenly premonition to keep postponing the reopening of the areas of worships time and again, or have you ever turned secular?"

For this, the Shiv Sena leader had reacted, stating: "I don't need a certification from you about my Hindutva... Isn't secularism an integral part of this Constitution, by which you swore while taking oath as the Governor?"
