The vision of Good health and well being for all is not far behind

Reinforcing India's commitment towards the 2030 Agenda for the 17 sustainable development goals is based on the principle of "leaving no one behind". Good health and well being is the third goal falling under this category that promotes health and well being for all with a commitment to end the epidemic diseases and aims to achieve universal health coverage and provide access to safe and effective medicine and vaccines to all. Currently, India has taken significant steps towards improving various health indicators.

According to the political analyst, Atul Malikram, all the goals under this mission speaks about the severe crisis that our country is going through nowadays. The Corona pandemic has challenged the whole world. Even with the numerous developed technologies, we are finding it difficult to win this biological war. Instead of relying solely on the new age technologies, we can use the biggest weapon in our arsenal- our morale. The strength of our brain is so much that it may make our body suffer from any particular disease or it may eliminate the most serious disease from its root. So, if used as an ointment, it can help us achieve the target of good health and well being even before 2030.

There is a saying that, Health is better than wealth because well being is and should always be a higher priority than riches. It is easy to get swept up in the world of materialism where success is measured in the terms of financial gain, but one should always remember that without good health, money is nothing but a piece of paper. We need a society where people boost each other's morale and spread positivity. Real happiness comes when you spend maximum time with your loved ones and help the vulnerable people around you. Good health is not only essential for survival, but it also encourages economic growth and prosperity. Whether it is to provide proper health services to all or to provide safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines, we all should be committed to give our full cooperation to improve all these areas of healthcare so that we can live in a healthy and progressive society.

So, not only the government but as citizens, we should also be responsible to improve our society. We must follow the necessary guidelines, take proper medicines and vaccines when it is our turn. Contribute to reducing the use of harmful chemicals, to keep the environment safe. Help in reducing pollution at the individual level. Promote cycling by minimizing the use of vehicles. Make yoga and exercise a part of our daily routine. Eat sattvic food.  Devise appropriate solutions to root out malnutrition from the country.

To achieve the 2030 Agenda of Good health and well being, certain necessary steps should be taken. Healthcare booths should be built at different places, from where people can get the proper information for better health. There should be a provision for conducting proper tests during a fixed time interval. Economically weak citizens should get a low fee or free treatment and proper medical facilities. Concrete rules should be made in every corner of the country for better medication. Only then, every citizen of the country will be able to flourish with good health and happiness which will help us to achieve our vision of a healthy and progressive India.
