Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister expressing concern on the deaths of cows

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressing concern on the deaths of cows, adding that the pictures of their carcasses from Lalitpur's Saujna are disturbing.

In her two-page letter, the Congress General Secretary said that details have not yet been ascertained as to under what circumstances the deaths occurred, but photographs show that it may have happened due to lack of fodder and water.

Priyanka Gandhi wrote it is also sad that these are not the first pictures of their kind. Earlier too, such pictures have come from various parts of the state. They are discussed on each instance for some time but no substantial steps are taken to take care of them. The question arises as to who is responsible for this?

The Congress leader said that after coming to power, the Chief Minister had talked about protecting cows and making cowsheds but the reality is that despite the announcements in this regard, the efforts of the government have been completely unsuccessful. Cows are being mis-treated in the name of their well-being. Cowsheds were opened but the reality is that the cows there only received insensitivity and not fodder and water.

Officers and those who run these cowsheds are completely immersed in corruption. There is no estimate of how many cows die hungry and thirsty in the whole state every day, she alleged.

She claimed that where cowsheds are in such a state, there is also a terrible problem of stray animals. The farmers are fed-up. They protect their crops while staying awake the whole night.
