Eight districts of Maharashtra's Marathwada region reported 306 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, health authorities said on Wednesday.
The region also witnessed 13 fatalities during the same period.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI stated that out of the eight districts in the region, Aurangabad was the worst affected with 54 fresh cases and 5 fatalities, followed by Nanded with 49 new cases and 3 deaths, Beed 81 cases and 2 deaths, Jalna 24 cases and 2 deaths, Parbhani 22 cases and one death, Latur 50 cases, Osmanabad 30 cases and Hingoli 5 cases.
Meanwhile, 4,909 more corona cases and 120 deaths were reported across the state. With this, the state's case tally reached 16.92 lakh.
While 6,973 cured patients discharged, taking the total number of recovered to 15.31 lakh. Meanwhile, total 44,248 patients have succumbed to the disease so far.
At present, 1.16 lakh patients were undergoing treatment in different hospitals and Covid care centres in the state.
