‘Playing the Veena was a soulful experience’, shares Gracy Singh
Recently, Santoshi Maa (Gracy Singh) in &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaiye Vrat Kathayein, was seen playing the Veena with utmost devotion. Gracy recently mastered the art of playing the Sitar and even learned Veena in no time, even though she was to perform playing it but ended up playing it effortlessly, much to the actor’s and everyone’s surprise.
Santoshi Maa (Gracy) says, “Playing the Veena was a soulful experience as classical music soothes me from within. In my free time, I spent a good amount of time mastering Sitar, which came as a blessing when I had to play the Veena recently. As the scene demanded, Santoshi Maa was pleased with the positive turn of events in Prithvi Lok, and hence she rejoices to the tunes of Veena. To get the scene right, when I tried my hand at the real instrument, I could not contain my joy. The sound of Veena is so spiritually healing that it took me to a different world altogether. It is not very easy to play the divine instrument. I had to revisit the teachings of my guruji and with utmost concentration, focus on getting the chords right. The melodious strains of the Veena are thoroughly enjoyed by ardent fans and lovers of classical music. I will cherish this memory for a long time and hope my fans too loved seeing me try something new. Interestingly the role of Santoshi Maa has helped me in connecting and paying more attention to my spiritual side.”
