Television Actors dish on quirky foods!

Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai

India's genuine love for food is widely celebrated, with a rich culinary heritage that dazzles taste buds globally. Embracing many influences, the nation crafts culinary wonders that resonate with modern and global palates. As World Food Day approaches, television artists from &TV set to dish out thrilling culinary tales, spotlighting the extraordinary and unconventional food pairings they have relished in their recent travels. These include Mohit Dagga (Ashok, Doosri Maa), Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan) and Rohitashv Gour (Manmohan Tiwari, Bhabiji Ghar Par hai). Mohit Dagga, aka Ashok from Doosri Maa, shares, “During my recent visit to Kolkata, I couldn't pass up the chance to taste the renowned Rasgulla. However, my experience took an unexpected turn when a friend insisted on trying 'Rasgulla Chai' at a unique stall. As a sweet tooth and tea enthusiast, I was intrigued and sceptical. To my surprise, the unconventional combo wasn't a winner. It was only when I indulged in Rasgullas from one of Kolkata's top shops that my cravings for sweets and tea were truly satisfied.”

Geetanjali Mishra, aka Rajesh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “Driven by my passion for food, I often find joy in experimenting with new culinary creations. Not every venture, however, leads to a taste bud triumph. On a particular occasion, returning from a shoot, I was engrossed in a viral video showcasing a tantalising chocolate sandwich. Although familiar with the concept from online sources, I had never personally indulged in this delightful treat. Intrigued by the mouthwatering combination of bread stuffed with chocolate, toasted to perfection, and crowned with a generous scoop of ice cream, I embarked on my chocolate sandwich expedition. Unfortunately, my attempt took an unexpected turn. Despite my efforts—liberally spreading butter, adding decadent chocolate chunks, toasting the ensemble, and finally, crowning it with a scoop of ice cream—the result fell short of the delightful culinary experience I had envisioned. The unique creation was distinctive but failed to deliver the anticipated gastronomic satisfaction.” Rohitashv Gour, aka Manmohan Tiwari from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “Participating in the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Indore alongside my co-star Shubhangi Atre was a culinary journey. Shubhangi, a proud Indore native, introduced me to various local delicacies. Among them, the Indori Khopra Patties stood out—an exquisite combination of crispy potato patties generously filled with a delightful mix of spicy, tangy coconut, aromatic herbs, and dried fruits. Each bite was a revelation, turning my perception of coconut from sweet to savoury and adding an extra layer of enjoyment to this unique culinary experience.”
