Kriti Sanon watches Meena Kumari’s movies and interviews for biopic prep
Kriti Sanon is all set to narrate the illustrious life of Meena Kumari. The actress will step into the shoes of the iconic actress for her biopic, which will mark the directorial debut of celebrated designer, Manish Malhotra.
As part of prep for the role, Kriti is watching notable performances of the late actress, in a bid to recreate her mannerisms and personality for the biopic. A source told mid-day that Kriti has been studying Meena Kumar’s performances in ‘Baiju Bawra’, ‘Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam’ and ‘Pakeezah’. She is also reading up old interviews of Meena Kumari to understand her offscreen personality. By mid-September, Kriti will reportedly indulge in table reads and workshops for this role. While the script is getting its finishing touches, Meena Kumari’s biopic is expected to go on floors by first week of October.
Kriti Sanon recently began shooting for her maiden production venture ‘Do Patti’, which stars Kajol in the lead role. Kriti is co-producing this venture with Kanika Dhillon. Revealing details about this project, Kriti had previously shared, “Thrilled to announce DO PATTI!This one is gonna be a thrilling game with a lot of heart! A first for Blue Butterfly Films”.
