MS Dhoni gave 60 Crore rupees to accident victims,Fake or Real?

“Severe legal action will be initiated against those who are trying to create communal disharmony by spreading rumours,” it warned.

The recent devastating train accident at Bahanaga in the Balasore district of Odisha has shaken the entire nation. Meanwhile, there have been several reports of celebrities and sportspersons donating huge amounts of money to the victims of the train accident.

A message is being forwarded on WhatsApp and other platforms that Chennai Super Kings star and former India skipper MS Dhoni has donated Rs 60 crore towards the Odisha train tragedy victims.

However, a fact-check by OTV has revealed that MS Dhoni donating Rs 60 crore towards Odisha train tragedy victims is a HOAX. MS Dhoni has never announced donating Rs 60 crore or any such huge amount for Odisha train tragedy victims. It is a fake message that is being spread on Telegram, WhatsApp, and other social media platforms.

On the other hand, many Twitter users also give a ‘communal colour’ to the deadly mishap, which claimed 275 lives. Taking note of the fake tweets, the Odisha Police warned that legal action would be taken against such posts.

“It has come to notice that some social media handles are mischievously giving communal colour to the tragic train accident at Balasore. This is highly unfortunate. We appeal to all concerned to desist from circulating such false and ill-motivated posts,” said a tweet by Odisha police.

“Severe legal action will be initiated against those who are trying to create communal disharmony by spreading rumours,” it warned.
