Yogi in Delhi to discuss UP polls with BJP high command

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday went to Delhi to meet the BJP high command and discuss the coming Assembly elections in his state and other issues, sources said.

The development comes against the backdrop of a high-level meeting between Mr Adityanath, BJP UP president Swantra Deo Singh and general secretary organisation Sunil Bansal held on Wednesday night in the state capital.

According to sources, Mr Adityanath is slated to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah at around 1600 hrs and probably BJP national president J P Nadda later in the evening.

The chief minister is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 1100 hrs on Friday before returning to Lucknow.

Meanwhile, national general secretary organisation B L Santhosh was in Lucknow for three days where he met several BJP ministers and leaders to noted their views over the party's strategy for the Assembly polls.

There are speculation about the expansion of the UP Cabinet and changes in the party organisation, besides rumour of Congress turncoat Jitin Prasada getting a key post in the government to glue Brahmin votes.
