NIA has arrested three accused persons in Antilia explosives case in Mumbai

The national anti- terror probe agency NIA on Thursday said that it has arrested three accused persons including ex-encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma involved in the larger conspiracy in a case of recovery of an explosive laden vehicle at Carmicheal Road in Mumbai near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s house Antilia.



The arrested accused are Satish Tirupati Mothkuri alias Tanni Bhai of Malad (East), Manish Vasant Soni Chincholi Bandar Road, Malad (West) and Pradeep Sharma of JB Nagar, Andheri (East) in Mumbai. All three accused were produced before the NIA Special Court today and the Court sent them on 12 days police custody.

This case was originally registered on February 15 this year at Gamdevi police station under sections of IPC and Explosive Substances Act relating to recovery of explosives in a Scorpio car at Carmicheal Road opposite Shikhar Kunj.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had taken over this case on March 8 and started probe in this high profile case.

NIA has already arrested seven accused persons. The above three accused persons were produced before NIA Special Court Mumbai today and have been taken on twelve days of NIA custody.

Pradeep Sharma, known as an encounter specialist, was questioned twice earlier by NIA officials in connection with this case. He is known to be close to former Mumbai Police cop Sachin Vaze, who has been arrested by the central agency as the main conspirator in recovery of explosive laden vehicle at Carmicheal Road and murder of Mansukh Hiren whose vehicle was used by the conspirators to place explosive.
