It is said that practice makes a man perfect and with this very ideology, &TV’s very own Ram Prasad Mishra ji aka Ambrish Bobby of ‘Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai?’ set foot to a local paan wallae ki dukaan to learn the art of making a paan. As seen in the show Mishra ji owns a paan ki dukaan, which is famous in Bajariya and quite well-known in Lucknow. To ensure that his portrayal of a paan wallah is unmatched, Ambrish was dedicated and open to learning from Lucknow localites on how to make the perfect paan. He met with over 5 paan-wallah’s to understand the expertise and skill of making one of India’s much-loved refreshment. The sheer hard work and dedication displayed by Ambrish Bobby stems from his need for perfection. He shares, “I enjoy playing Ramesh Prasad Mishra, he is hilarious in ways when he is afraid of his wife. I wanted to ensure that I stay true to my character hence, I took the decision of meeting with real-life paan-wallahs. I was keen on learning more about the mannerisms and body language one requires to pull off the character. Making the audience laugh is a treat I enjoy more than them, and with every paan I intend to bring smiles to a lot of faces.”

On his experience of making a paan first-hand Ambrish Bobby aka Ramesh Prasad Mishra shares, “They say making a paan is an acquired skill and takes years to master. My encounter with paan-wallah’s have always included them customizing a special paan for me. It is as though they see through a person and immediately recognize their tastes. For me to perform as one and really immerse in the character meant to get ground-zero experience. I learnt from some of the best paan-wallah’s in Lucknow who always seemed to have a long queue of people waiting for their turn. I met with professionals and those who had just started off, but I learnt from all. The kind of ingredients one uses, the style of wrapping a paan so that it doesn’t fall apart, and the lingo used when making one were all challenges I overcame after my interaction with the humble and helpful paan-wallah’s. Even after the show went on-air, I went back to visit them to convey my heart-felt thanks and I could see the crowd recognize me and my character. It was a great honour when a fan came up to me and said ‘Arey aap toh Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai? ke Mishra ho! Mujhe to Mishraji ke haath ka hi paan khana hai.’ Ab bann gaya main sahi maayne mein Mishraji pan wallah.”
