Former HP Congress chief and MLA from Nadaun assembly segment of the Hamirpur district, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhoo on Monday blasted the Jai Ram Thakur led the BJP government in the state for wasting the public money on its marketing and packing except to save the lives of the people suffering from the dreaded Coronavirus.
Sukhoo said ,” It has been a year and three months since the Corona infection has spread in the country and the state and the government has started the work of the distribution of home isolation kits to the affected people and this has made the mockery of the situation”.
He said that the money the government had spent on its packaging and marketing could have been spent on setting up an oxygen plant, buying oxygen cylinders or oxygen concentrators to save the lives of hundreds of people.
The Congress party leader said that this clearly showed how serious the government was towards the health of the people.
MLA Sukhoo said that at this time the government should have controlled the prices of oximeters, oxygen concentrators, thermal scanners, masks, sanitizers, oxygen cylinders, etc. to fight the corona infection, but today the price of all these devices has increased.
Sukhu said that the state government was completely unsuccessful in the field of installation and running of health equipment.
He alleged that in three major medical colleges in Himachal Pradesh has defective CT scan machines that were badly needed to scan of the lungs of corona patients.
But sadly, the government has left the people of the state on its own and the government is limited to its marketing thereby harming the cause of the innocent people, the Congress party leader said.
Sukhu said that the country and the state we're in serious trouble at this time and every single life mattered to all of us, so we should all stand together and do whatever we could do to save the lives of CORONA affected people.
