Dukaan App helps Businesses Survive and Grow during the pandemic
Advait Arun Bapat of Kalyan West has been running his business, Sahaj Havan Enterprises since late 2018. Through his store he sells frozen food and spices and has had good and consistent business. When the pandemic hit in late March 2020, like thousands of other small and medium businesses, Advait too had to shut down his store in the fear of the unknown virus and an anticipation of a better situation. This is when the app Dukaan was launched. Dukaan is a SaaS platform that allows a merchant or an entrepreneur to create a digital store in under 30 seconds. Using Dukaan, even without technical knowledge, anyone can create their online store, grow, promote and manage their businesses over the internet in multiple categories like grocery, fruits and vegetable, electronics, fashion and apparels, jewelry, furniture etc. One can download the app from the Play Store on their smart phone, name their online store, add inventory and begin promoting the store for sales. A merchant can also customize various elements on the store like adding discounts, availability of the product, the choice of including or excluding GST and also add cost for delivery if need be.
Advait utilized Dukaan to keep his business running and was able to reach more customers in Kalyan West and Dombeli areas in Mumbai. The simplicity of the app, reduced his burden of learning new technology and through Dukaan, he has been able to receive multiple orders each day. He would manage the delivery of the ordered items on the same day and had the flexibility to receive the payment for them through cash or on the platform. While he continued his business, he went a step ahead and decided to help those who required food during the lockdowns. He started a homemade food delivery service for breakfast, lunch and dinner for those stuck at their homes, hospitals and old age homes. Advait is one of the few people who thought beyond his business and helped various people in need during a scary pandemic.
Advait is committed to providing high quality and hygienic food to its customers to their doorstep and continues to do so till date for those who want the taste of warm home food. He dreams of expanding his business beyond his current reach and is working towards adding more products and services to serve as many customers as possible.
Like Advait, Dukaan today has over 30lakh online stores and has witnessed over 10lakh orders over the last few months. With the growing need for social distancing and frequent lockdowns and curfews, an app like Dukaan has supported and helped thousands of businesses stay afloat. Many of them have expanded their existing businesses through the app, as an online store has a larger audience when compared to a physical store. Dukaan's steady growth is due to its simplicity and timely upgrading of necessary features on the app. Recently, Dukaan added a unique feature 'Magic Upload', using which a retail merchant can upload the inventory within seconds by taking a picture of the product shelf. The feature recognizes each individual product and uploads it along with the price of the product available in the market. This reduces the inventory management and catalogue upload to 1/10th of the original time taken. This allows the merchants to utilize their valuable time in strategizing and building their business further. Troopel is also available on Telegram. You can subscribe by clicking here.
