Maharashtra Government taken strict measures against Covid-19 during the upcoming festivals.

Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has asked all district administrations to take measures against Covid-19 during the upcoming festivals.

In a letter to all the Chief Secretaries, Mr Bhalla has asked all district administrations as well as the police department to conduct awareness campaigns following the covid surge in the state as well as take precautionary measures in connection with upcoming Holi-Dhulivandan, Shab-e-Barat and Easter Sunday celebrations.

It may be noted that Maharashtra is one of the worst affected states across the country, having spotted more than 36,000 cases with 112 fatalities during the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile last evening, state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also instructed to impose night curfew in the entire state from tomorrow onwards.

However, curfew was already imposed in various covid affected cities in the district.

The Chief Minister gave these instructions after interacting with all the Divisional Commissioners and the administration online and taking stock of the situation in Covid.

If the people do not follow Covid norms, there will be no other option left than to take strict actions, he warned.

Meanwhile, 52 lakh people have been vaccinated against covid so far in the state and Maharashtra is currently number one in the country in terms of vaccination, Thackeray added
