Sony SAB’s new show Kaatelal & Sons to bring alive the inspiring thought of
‘Sapno Ka Koi Gender Nahin Hota’
Based on a true story, watch Kaatelal & Sons 16th November onwards at 7:30 pm
Sony SAB launches Kaatelal & Sons, a fascinating tale of two sisters who challenge societal norms and face hardships head-on. Inspired by a real story, the show will take us through the bustling streets of Rohtak to narrate a heartening tale about ‘un-gendering’ your dreams. Starring Ashok Lokhande, Megha Chakraborty and Jiya Shankar amongst others, Sony SAB’s Kaatelal & Sons is set to premier on November 16th every Monday-Friday at 7:30 PM.
Stereotyped gender roles are deeply rooted in peoples’ mindset in our society, Kaatelal & Sons aims to spearhead a change by making people believe that 'Sapno ka Koi Gender Nahi Hota'. The viewers will witness the two sisters, Garima (Megha Chakraborty) and Susheela (Jia Shankar), who in adversity take on their father’s business of running a local men’s hair salon in Rohtak. While their father, Dharampal, (Ashok Lokhande) believes that his ancestral shop, aptly named ‘Kaatelal & Sons’ cannot be passed on to his daughters and that girls are not meant to pursue such a profession, the daughters are adamant on owning the shop, learning the skill and taking the business to new highs.
When the time comes where the patriarch is in dire health complications and financial concerns arise, the sisters take charge albeit in disguise, leaving gender typecast aside and aspire to achieve their dream of becoming capable hairdressers and running their family business.
Produced by Contiloe Pictures, Kaatelal & Sons adds to Sony SAB’s heart-warming line-up of shows that aim to inspire through its characters and storyline. The show also features a stellar line-up of talented artistes like Paras Arora, Ankit Mohan, Deepak Tokas, Manoj Goyal amongst others in key roles.
